Starting from 2008, the Sayling Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation collaborated with domestic industrial, governmental, academic, and research units to actively promote a series of grounded research and promotional projects relating to service science and service innovation, introducing resources from abroad to cultivate domestic research energies. The Foundation also initiated academia-industry collaborations with National Chengchi University, National Tsing Hua University, and IBM to promote academic developments in service science. Later that same year, the Foundation assisted the Service Science Research Center at National Chengchi University in building the U2EX project and the Orbi exhibition tour system while sponsoring establishment of the first domestic service science graduate research institute (the Institute of Service Science at National Tsing Hua University) for systemic dissemination of relevant training and research projects. The Foundation further established and hosted a series of research-related awards, lectures, experience camps, and training courses.

The Sayling Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation sponsored the establishment of S3TW in 2011 to provide systematic service methodologies and create value through use of social media platforms and integration of research units. At the same time, the S3TW continued to demonstrate and promote service science concepts, cultivate seed teachers and students in the field of service science, and organize global service innovation and service design forums and camps to gradually enhance industrial recognition of service science concepts. iSee Taiwan Foundation began sponsoring S3TW in 2017.

After many years of effort from all three parties, an academic community based around service science and aligned with global trends has gradually been formed. In future, we plan to focus on organization of global exchange forums, cultivation of new service talents, strengthening of corporate recognition and participation, integration of industrial needs with practical results, and promotion of application cases, thereby enhancing the practical values of service science and accumulating experiences in talent cultivation while continuing to promote industrial innovations in Taiwan and upgrade national competitiveness.
