In 2019, in response to teaching needs of new service design teachers, we used our 2018 service design methodology inventory results as a basis for developing instruction manuals for service design courses.
Our research team surveyed service design teachers at domestic universities and identified 6 tools commonly used in the 4D stages of service design, including on-site observation, service experience, empathy maps, workshops, mandala charts, service displays, and business model analysis charts to achieve various teaching goals, use procedures, and expected benefits. We also made slight modifications to teaching scenarios for corporate personnel, seed teachers, and student competitions, providing an important reference for new teachers in service design courses.
