International Exchange Activities

2020/04/23

S3TW often conducts exchanges with international experts in the service science and service design fields through international seminars and workshops. In terms of academic exchanges, S3TW regularly hosts the Forum on Service Science Research and the International Conference on Service Science and Innovation. We also participate in international seminars such as IJCSS (Shanghai), SRII (San Jose), the annual Serviceology conference in Japan, the annual conference hosted by the Service Science Society of Australia, events hosted by SDN, and activities organized by Design Thinkers Group to maintain interactions with experts and scholars all around the world.

In terms of exchanges, we have participated in more than 30 international seminars and official visits as of 2019, for example the Service Design Global Conference, the international Serviceology seminar, and Stanford University's Project Innovation Through Design Thinking (2015). In 2014, we invited renowned service-dominant logic expert Professor Stephen Vargo to speak in Taiwan.

In 2018, we hosted ICSSI in tandem with the Japanese Society for Serviceology's ICServ 2018. There was a total of 145 participants from more than 10 countries, including Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, and Denmark. In the same year, we signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Serviceology Society Malaysia and the Japanese Society for Serviceology, setting a new milestone for international academic exchanges.

We plan to convene the ICSSI 2020 seminar in October, where we will invite three outstanding service science and service design experts (Dr. Jim Spohrer, Professor Birgit Mager, Professor David Schwartz) to share their research and perspectives in Taiwan.
