S3TW integrated Open Data with service science in 2018, proposing an Open Data enabled Service Design methodology, making Open Data an important element for supporting and creating new service design systems.
Our research incorporated concepts of Open Data into existing design thinking methodologies, using data to explore possibilities of service innovation during the service design stages. At the same time, data is used in different stages of design, for example in problem discovery and definition, identification and definition of problem-related elements, identification of design elements, determination of element importance, and verification of design acceptance and feasibility.
In this era of big data, these research results and methodology can be used to develop diverse values of data and service innovation which can be widely used in smart cities, local creation, social enterprises, public services, and other issues of innovation.
