On May 30, 2024, the Taiwan Service Science Society Southern Alliance and the Enterprise Integration Research Center of the College of Management at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) hosted a "Faculty Exchange Event," which included a luncheon and an afternoon lecture. During the luncheon, attendees shared experiences and insights on integrating academic theories with practical operations to create diverse and enriching opportunities for students, enhancing their future career prospects. The afternoon lecture, held at NKUST's First Campus (E006), featured CAL's Information Management Director, Lu Shih-Ming, as the keynote speaker. Titled "Innovation and the Future of Aviation Technology," the lecture covered future trends and innovations in aviation technology. Director Lu highlighted the IATA's promotion of biometric technology for identity verification, enhancing travel convenience. He also stressed the importance of data security, referencing CAL's information leaks from 2016 to 2018. Director Lu discussed strategic technology trends for 2024, emphasizing AI, contactless travel, and data security. He noted that AI will dominate the future, and contactless services will streamline travel processes. Examples included biometric enabled self-service baggage check systems and BagTag technology. He also highlighted the importance of standardized API technologies for data exchange, system integration, and predicted that virtual technology and backend AI will drive industry transformation in the coming years.
